Flash Gordon doesn't really judge anybody. Look, if you are willing to team up with somebody you acknowledge is half crazy you are way beyond just simple compassion. "Hey crazy dude, you wanna hook us up with a spaceship so we can zip around the galaxy and try to find out where these meteors are coming from?" Not sure if that was in the very first issue of Flash Gordon, but it was definitely implied. Flash Gordon got a chance to meet a lot of people during his travels, some were elemental themed, some were animal themed, some were a little bit of both.
