Batman Depiction Art Work by Alessandro Baldasseroni
Friday, September 14th, 2007This is literally, the most fantastic depiction of Batman outside of the actual comics (being restricted to Neal Adams, Michael Turner and Jim Lee). Alessandro did a fantastic job in creating his version of Batman.
“The main source of inspiration, apart the general imagery of Batman`s comics, movies and so on, was the wonderful short movie “Batman: Dead End” by Sandy Collora. I loved Sandy`s realistic vision of Batman`s costume and the dark and dirty mood of the film, so I decided to keep that realistic aspect in 3D, emphasizing even more Bruce Wayne`s dark side. So I took elements from Batman`s iconography assembling them according to my personal tastes of how I like him.”
Go to Alessandro’s site right now and read up on how he made this fantastic piece of art.
- - Notice the texture in the suit. The cowel and how you can see the man behind the mask in the eye slots. Check out the wrinkles in the shirt on the abs and on his right tricep.
- - You can actually tell the difference in material between the gauntlets and cape and the shirt and leggins.
- - The wrinkles in the gauntlets, the metacarples (back of the hand) as they push out in the gauntlets.
- - The blood on the Batarang.
- - The Utility Belt, the stitching, the chrome and leather, the shadow it leaves on the thigh. You can tell that the light is from nothing other than the moon.
- - And my favorite… the zipper in the gauntlet. Alessandro has this down to a science.
And if you haven’t seen Dead End, you better stop what you’re doing and go check it out right friggen now.
