Chinese Superhero… Bruce Lee

I’ve often wondered what it feels like for people of different races to emulate Superman, to look up to him, to want to be like him.  How does a black kid in the U.S. feel when he’s playing with his friends where they pretend to be superheroes and he says he’s Superman.  Or maybe a Mexican saying he wants to be like Batman or even Spider-Man, el Hombre Arrania.

I guess the closest I can come to it is to say that, as a kid… and still as an adult, I’ve always idolized Bruce Lee.  I always wanted to be like him.  To move like him, act like him, fight like him and the fact that he was Chinese didn’t get in the way at all.   All I knew was that I worshiped the guy and would do anything to be like Bruce… except train my butt off learning martial arts.

Bruce Lee is a reminder that Superheroes transcend racial barriers and leave an imprint on all of us regardless of ethnicity, race or color.

Bruce just rocks!

With Rage Against The Machine… A must watch!

Kato and RObin, from Batman… don’t miss it.
