More Cast Members for the Spirit
Friday, August 24th, 2007Yesterday, the Hollywood Reporter announced that Scarlett Johansson is in final negotiations to portray the femme fatale Silk N. Floss in Frank Miller’s adaptation of Will Eisner’s The Spirit. Today it’s been released that Eva Mendes has also joined the cast. This is starting out to be quite the star studded lineup with Samuel L. Jackson and Gabriel Macht already on board. Their is no doubt that”The Spirit” was an influential comic and that Will Eisner is the friggen man but I have my doubts on how this movie will do. It’s such an old comic, will they stick to the story that Will Eisner wrote or will they modernize it for today’s audiences? Will having it packed full of stars make people who don’t care, interested in it? It will be interesting to see how they market this movie. The filming is set to start in New Mexico this October.
